Back in Tokyo again after a day of driving and shopping and after playing Nagoya yesterday!
The show last night was fantastic on our part and a little less fantastic on Y.M.D.I.T.D's part. They had some real bad luck...every time they got the flow going, something happend to throw them off completely....broken strings, nothing in the monitors and alot more. We really felt sorry for the guys because they were really going for it and giving it all they had. Tomorrow they'll shred to make up...no doubt!
It was also Brian's birthday so we had decided to give him a surprise and ended our show with singing happy birthday and giving him a few gifts. Kono had bought Brian some wonderful stuff...a pair of underwear with a tap on them and a plastic samurai-wig. He looked hilarious!!!
We met alot of very nice people after the show and hung around for a while, celebrating Brian.
Today we just slept in a bit, got up, played with some pigeons on the street then took off for Tokyo.
Here we bought some music-gear, stumbled upon our cd's in a small independent records-store and ate some awesome pizzas!
A good day all in all, but can't wait to get to play again tomorrow!!
Good night!

DAY 6/7: KOBE/OSAKA NIGHT
Back at the hotel again after two amazing shows by both bands at Helluva Lounge in Kobe.
This place has the most amazing stage. Perfect small size which we love and a lightboard floor!!
We got some killer pics but none too good on my mobilephone-camera.
One of the opening acts were Nayuta, and they were just fantastic! Killer guitar a la Sonic Youth/Don Caballero mixed with battleslike harmony vocals. Do check it out!
Kenneth also found some nice new threads for little Harry Krook, the best swedish fotballer not yet born:
Most of the day we hung out at the venue, slept in and took it easy. Had a small stroll around the neighbourhoods close
to the Helluva Lounge. Here's some random pics from the day.

DAY 6: KOBE
Morning Everyone!
In about 1 hour we're leaving for the Hellava Lounge in Kobe, right now most of us are probably sleeping since we didn't go to sleep until the early hours.
Yesterday we had a going away party for Magnus Lundmark (or Magnadochious to YMDITD-Brian) who's been our photographer, heavy drinker and main trouble instigator this far on the tour. Thanks for coming with us Magnus, yr welcome anytime!!
Last night's show at Drop in Osaka was a bit wierd. This city is apparantly a big hiphop-city, and all over the place where we played there was all these bad-ass hiphoppers hanging around.
The sound onstage was horrible and we couldn't hear anything at all...we kept telling the soundguy to turn up our guitars in the monitors but nothing happend. We did our best anyways and had a good time playing!!
YMDITD continue to upstage us every night energywise...they´re like 3 balls of concentrated energy just bouncing of the walls of any venue we get to!!!
It was raining all day long yesterday and we tried to do some shopping but it didn't really go to well, with some exceptions. Johan bought himself a kickass pedal-case for about 1/4th of the price back home. Equipment-wise things are improving rapidly here!! Right Brandon?
The best news yesterday tho was that apparantly, Micke is getting to attract alot of attention with japanese girls. Our beloved Boss Kono told us that there's a bit of a buzz surrounding Micke on various blogs and that people have been asking for photosession-time with Micke when we get back to Tokyo!! It's awesome!!
Hanging with the YMDITD-guys are totally awesome, we were a bit worried before the tour about touring 2 weeks with another band that we didn't know at all for 14 days, because we've never done that before. We've always gotten to tour with
bands we really admire, like Once We Were.
But things are working out a-ok and Brain, Dochious and Milk are awesome guys and fantastic musicians!! You HAVE TO check them out! -> purevolume.com/youmaydieinthedesert
Here's a few various pics from the tour. All of these are crappy mobile-cam pics but better ones are on their way! Take care!
(yeah, still haven't figured out why the pics won't be in the right direction)

oh yeah!
Day 5: Osaka
Hey Everyone!
in Osaka, at the hotel. It's morning and this is the 3rd time I'm writing this stuff. The web-browser automatically sets the language here to japanese so I can't understand a friggin word on here...it's all hit and miss with this. We´re also having some trouble to find the internetconnection+time to update this thing...we'll do our best!
Arrived here late last night after 7 hours of driving from Fukuoka, where we played on Wednesday. The show at decatant delax in Fukuoka was amazing and both bands were at the very top of the game!! Great surprise to us not to sell more than a few copies of "This is a copy..." but it explained itself soon enough. Apparantly most of the people at the show already had our cd's, so they bought t-shirts and our tour - cdr's instead! Kono reports that we've sold more than one thousand copies of the new album here and that the number keeps growing steadily. Fantastic news!!
After the show we had a party to celebrate the tour and to get to hang out with the YMDITD-guys for more than show/soundcheck/backstage. We've been travelling in two different cars and staying at different places up until now.
We (most of us) soon found ourselves at a karaoke-bar and there is photo-evidence of severe throatdamaging/earshattering activities.
We're having some trouble uploading pictures but we'll work it out asap.
Yesterday we went to TOWER RECORDS in Fukuoka and checked out our cd's on display and signed at greetingcard for our fans there, first time ever! After that we went and bought some strings+equipment and cursed our thin wallets because everything at that music-store was like half the price of back home. The americans weren't too impressed tho, their prices is about the same...the bastards.
Tried to cure a raging hangover in the car to Osaka...7 hours in a van designed for japanese people isn't the easiest thing in the world. The seats are way too low so we kind of sit with our knees in our faces all the time.
Today we play a club called Drop and we're hoping for a good turnout. If you're close by Osaka, come on over to the Drop-club and we'll have a good time.
Until next time!!

Japan Tour Day 3: OKAYAMA
The gig in Tokyo at the O-East was amazing!! There was around 800-1000 people at the show and we did good concidering that we were more or less dead from traveling for about 20 hours...
All the Zankyo bands were amazing, especially Té, Naan and YOU.MAY.DIE.IN.THE.DESERT, but there really wasn't a single bad show during the whole evening.
Yesterday we played Kyoto at Whoopees and it was real nice. We did our first really good show and saw some amazing bands. Clean Of Core and Low-Pass were amazing! We also hung out backstage for a while before leaving for our hotel.
Kyoto is beautiful by night.
Here we are with the Y.M.D.I.T.D-guys, eating indian food!
Kono and Chung picked us up at 9:30 and we went to the Rokuon-ji temple in Kyoto or "The Golden Pavilion". It's (according to Kono) the most popular and well-visited temple in Japan.
It was amazingly beautiful and we had a really nice time there.
Back at the hotel after a looong day! We played at Crazy Mama 2 in Okayama and
it was great. YOU.MAY.DIE.IN.THE.DESERT really kicked ass tonight and S.o.T did good as well.
Y.M.D.I.T.D
Today we also got the news that we'll receive a bunch of money for promotion for "This Is A Copy..." from the swedish government. Plans to do a video is under way.
Didn't have a chance to update the blog yesterday so here we are. Gonna try to update as often as possible.
Next stop: Fukuoka...see you there.
much love!

SoT In Japan!!
DAY 1: TOKYO
Hey Everyone!
Scraps Of Tape are in Japan, jetlagged and overwhelmed. It's about 5 hours
until our first show here and we just can't wait!!
We're hanging out at the amazing O-East in Shibuya, Tokyo and if you're ever in
Tokyo, GO HERE! It's fantastic.
We've met a bunch of great people already, our guide and lifeline Jounji (it's probably not spelled that way and I'm not sure how to at all, that's more how it's pronounced...i think), Kono from Zankyo Records, the YOU.MAY.DIE.IN.THE.DESERT-guys which we'll do the tour with and lot's others...
We've been travelling since 04.30 (swedish time) on the 16th...done about 14 hours of flying and moving 7 hours ahead timewise, so we're really messed up now, Marcus has flown for the first time and Johan has almost lost a pair of earplane-plugs into his head.
Everything started out amazingly with us having 1400:- € of excess-weight at Kastrup Airport (PANIC!!), Johan finding a set of keys on him that really shouldn't be there and then Johan losing/not receiving his boardingpass and almost missing the first plane to Paris. The rest of the trip went ok compared to this. Well...nerves tested and everything still works...some chestpains and headaches but other than that, all's well!!!
So, this is us right now, catching up on sleep and drinking water n coffee!
So, until more news comes our way, take care!!!
